Releasing the Past

My past sifted to the surface recently after many, many years of laying dormant. And although I had dealt with most of it, I was still feeling some of the pain. Over the years when it came up for me it was a true shock to my system. I would be blindsided by it and felt the hurt and pain as though it had just occurred. But this time was different. This time I wasn’t blindsided. In a way, it felt right. My past hadn’t come back to ‘haunt’ me… it had come to light because I was ready to move on. I was ready to forgive – to let go completely. It was time to heal.

As part of my healing, I wrote myself an affirmation meditation which truly helped me forgive and let go and move into a new, more empowered version of myself.

I am sharing it with you here in hope that it helps you release what you are ready to move on from. Below, you will also find the link to my Youtube recording of it, if you prefer to listen to it as a guided meditation.

You may like to read this affirmation meditation aloud or just in your mind – either will be effective. But I do encourage you to read or say it often, as releasing and letting go while instilling new, empowering beliefs takes its own time. Wherever you are on your journey of healing, be kind to yourself and know that there is no rush – you are exactly where you need to be. You are strong. You are worthy. You are loved.

Affirmation Meditation to Release the Past

Today is a new day for me.

Today is a new beginning.

It is safe for me now to release the past.

I am ready to release the past.

It is time to let go.

It is time to heal.

I am ready to step into a new empowered version of myself.

Today, I release with love what no longer serves me.

I release with love, all that has hurt me.

I release with love, all who have hurt me.

I release my past with love.

I release with love, for my past led me to where I am.

I am happy where I am.

I love where I am.

I love who I am.

To forgive, is to let go of completely.

I forgive all that has caused me pain.

I forgive all who have caused me pain.

I forgive completely.

I let go completely.

I release completely.

I am grateful for my past, as it led me to this moment.

Where I am strong.

I am worthy.

I am light.

I am open.

I am joyful.

I am powerful.

I am loving.

I am loved.

I am awakened.

I am abundant.

My past no longer has any hold on me.

I am at peace with my past.

I am at peace with my past.

I am at peace with myself.

I am healed.

I am free.

I am me.

And I love all that I am.

Much love and gratitude,

Lauren xxx
